The RISE Precinct will include the construction of a new 9-storey multi-disciplinary research and teaching building, along with the refurbishment of multiple existing buildings on campus. Once completed, over 20,000m2 of space will be dedicated to teaching and learning, research laboratories and workspace.
The RISE Precinct will be part of the new science and technology hub at Deakin University’s Burwood Campus. The project will enable cross-disciplinary collaboration between the School of Information Technology, School of Life and Environmental Science and the Institute for Frontier Materials. It will establish a platform for partnerships with Industry and other universities by integrating state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
Technology platform rooms, housing research equipment, will be distributed throughout the building so that these can be shared by the different disciplines. Subject specific functions, uniquely dedicated to one of the three schools will include a Cyber Security Centre, a Battery Prototyping Facility as well as a Green House to the roof top level.
