BatTRI-HUB 2.0 establishes a new battery fabrication, testing and diagnosis facility, accessible from Deakin Burwood Campus. It expands on the capabilities of Deakin’s first battery engineering facility, BatTRI-HUB at Geelong Waurn Ponds, translating research to pre-commercial scale prototyping, testing and innovation services. The establishment of the new facility will enable expansion and the establishment of new income streams through service, manufacturing, and knowledge generation. It will also promote interaction and collaboration with researchers from other institutes and industry; and facilitate the establishment of manufacturing spinouts. BatTRI-HUB 2.0 will attract and support scientists, engineers, and technicians in partnership with industry, to produce bespoke batteries and build pack-scale prototypes for product demonstration in the 1-10kWh size range.
